Let’s have fun with BINGO!!!

This is an excellent opportunity to network with fellow Toastmasters, have fun, and win exciting prizes!

In lieu of the opportunity drawing traditionally held at our district conference, we will play the game of virtual BINGO. To participate, all you need to do is buy your BINGO cards (ideally before the conference starts).

Here is the brief summary of the BINGO game.

BINGO is a game of chance played using cards with a grid of numbers. A sample BINGO card is shown below:

Randomly chosen numbers are called out by the BINGO caller. Prizes are awarded once a complete row (horizontal, vertical, or diagonal) is completed on your card.

Before the game, each player buys one or more BINGO cards. When the BINGO caller calls out a number, the players mark each number on their cards as they are called.

As soon as your card completes a row (horizontal, vertical, or diagonal), shout “BINGO!” The first player to complete a row wins the prize.

Day 2 Speaker Sessions

It Has to Be about You, but It’s Not about You!

Sharing your stories with the intention of connecting and making a difference for others is essential to leadership, life and success.

Your Superhero Origin Story

Would you like to know one of the absolute TOP leadership secrets that I have found as I support global leaders at JLABS, Johnson & Johnson, NASA, Navy Special Operations, Accenture, Boston Scientific, and many, many more? Well, here it is… Your Super Hero Origin Story. Your Origin Story has the power to change everything. Find it, craft it, tell it very well and you’ll always be walking the red carpet.

About the Speakers

John Bates

John Bates’ Why is to bring out what is awesome inside of you, so it can live in the world and make a real difference.

Hilarious, entertaining, and actionable, his large and small group trainings, keynotes and 1:1 coaching are famous the globe over. His offerings thrill audiences, meeting planners and HR, alike. He is one of the most prolific and successful TED format trainers in the world.

After getting his start by absolutely blowing his first talk on the TED stage, John has gone on to train hundreds of TED/TEDx speakers in countries from the US to Yemen in what he learned, the hard way. He also works with thousands of C-level executives at top global corporations to make their communications “TED-Worthy.” Executives from organizations like Johnson & Johnson, NASA (where he most recently trained the Astronauts), Boston Scientific, Navy Special Operations, and more recommend him to their colleagues as the best, and most fun, leadership communication trainer working today.

John founded the website executivespeakingsuccess.com and offers training based in human evolutionary biology and human neurophysiology so you learn not only what works, but WHY it works; principles you can apply to your own unique style which will allow you to connect, inspire and elevate at will.

John brings the power of TED-Worthy communication, powerful executive presence, storytelling and Jedi-like persuasion skills to top executive teams, sales teams, entrepreneurs, scientists, engineers and anyone on the light side of the Force who wants to have a lasting, memorable impact and reliably cause people to take action.

John’s articles for Inc.com, including “How Crashing and Burning on the TED Stage Changed My Life” can be found here: www.inc.com/author/john-bates, his book the itty bitty Guide to Being TED-Worthy is a #1 Bestseller and his second book, TED-Worthy Leader, Connect, Inspire, Elevate is changing lives right now.

And, John was a Toastmaster for many years in Pasadena, CA.

Cody Cotulla

Cody Cotulla works at the intersection of comedy, communication, and confidence. He helps people develop their comedy skills so that they can communicate more effectively and build stronger more meaningful relationships with the people in their personal and professional lives.

Cody started building his own comedy skills in elementary school, making people laugh on purpose using jokes from books, retelling jokes from the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, and poking fun at himself. Forty plus years later he still regularly makes people laugh in the workplace, at home, at public speaking events, on comedy stages, and now on Zoom. Cody has been an active member of Toastmasters for years, studied improv and performed as part of a two-person improv team, and worked as a full-time professional standup comic. He’s worked for over twenty years in the tech industry, as a technical writer, software developer, and manager. He got his first tech job because he sent a video of himself performing standup to the hiring manager.

He’s also a long-time husband and parent, who believes his daughter will one day appreciate all the jokes and stories she’s had to listen to over the years.
