Toastmasters Bay to Bay is Back!

A Monthly TV Show – Returning October 2025

Imagine giving your speech on a real TV show, filmed in a professional studio and broadcast to the community. From 2008–2015, Bay to Bay gave 200+ Toastmasters (in District D4) that chance across 70+ episodes, helping members shine under studio lights and connect with unseen audiences.

Now, after a decade, Bay to Bay is making its return—led by Producer Stan Ng and District 101—with a brand new pilot episode recording on October 14, 2025!

Award-Winning Program

Over eight years on the air, Toastmasters Bay to Bay earned recognition throughout the western United States:

  • 5-time finalist in the Western Access Video Excellence (WAVE) Awards
  • 3-time WAVE Award winner

The WAVE Awards span six western states, making this recognition a true regional honor that reflects both the quality of our program and the impact it had on audiences.

Our Three Goals

* Give Members a Platform to Speak on TV

Speaking on television requires new skills—engaging the camera and delivering confidently without a live audience.

* Showcase the Toastmasters Education Program

Each 5–7 minute speech is followed by a 2–3 minute evaluation, showing how members grow through feedback and teamwork.

* Highlight Our Clubs

Each episode includes a 3-minute profile video of a local club, showcasing the unique cultures, traditions, and personalities of Toastmasters clubs in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Show Format (half-hour, live-to-tape)

Live-to-tape means that once we hit the record button, we do not stop and we do not edit in post. What happens in the studio is what viewers will see.

For Toastmasters, this provides a unique opportunity:

  • To practice delivering a complete half-hour program on time, to the second
  • To adapt gracefully if technical or logistical hiccups occur
  • To demonstrate the same confidence and teamwork required in real-life speaking situations

The structure of each show:

  • Host introduction
  • Speaker (5–7 min) + Evaluation (2–3 min)
  • 3-minute club profile video
  • Speaker (5–7 min) + Evaluation (2–3 min)
  • Host wrap-up & credits

How You Can Get Involved

Be part of the pilot episode! We need 5 participants:

  • 2 speakers
  • 2 evaluators
  • 1 host

Feature your club! Volunteer to be the subject of a 3-minute video profile in a future episode—an excellent way to spotlight your club’s culture and attract new members.
