In 1993 Sheryl was the 6th woman globally, the youngest woman, and 28th overall, to be honored by Toastmasters with the elite Accredited Speaker designation for “outstanding platform professional speaking.” As of August 2022, only 90 have earned the credential in 146 countries since 1981. Although many candidates do not pass on their first attempt, she did, and shares how you can too!

Today Past International President Pat Johnson will share with us some of her experiences along the way to “success” in Toastmasters at the member, club, area, division and district levels.
She will share some of the benefits that each one of us, as members, can access. We will also explore the many resources and elements to consider when building a success plan for Excellence in your club, area, division and district.
Success is a journey and we must create the “map” to success and then follow that “map” in order to arrive at our planned destination.

Paradigm Shift From Community to Corporate
While there are many layers to the process of changing our paradigms regarding the Toastmasters program and the possibility of it being an integral part of a corporation’s in-house training programs, today we are going to look at the first layer.
For the next hour we will interactively explore some concepts to consider when approaching corporations, topics that are critical to discuss and conversations to have with them regarding the relationship between the two entities.
Today Pat asks that you suspend all that you already know about the Toastmasters program, how it works in your club, how you have done it before, or are in the process of doing – and travel with a different perspective – that of what the corporate world is looking for and how we can partner with them.
